Conférence doctorale HEC

HEC Paris is happy to invite Economics PhD students to submit their paper to the 2023 HEC Paris Economics PhD conference. This student-run event will be held on the university campus in Jouy-en-Josas, France, on June 12th and 13th 2023.

The conference is supported by the Faculty of Economics and Decision Sciences Department, and will offer a platform for PhD students to present their research in all fields of economics and related disciplines. It will include paper presentations grouped by theme, keynote lectures from professors Pierre Boyer and Florian Ederer, and several informal social interactions.

We aim to provide economics PhD students a friendly atmosphere where they can share their work, obtain valuable feedback, network with international peers and improve their presentation skills. We plan to host between 15 and 20 participants.

Papers submitted to the conference will be evaluated by a scientific committee comprising HEC Paris Faculty (Tristan Tomala, Nicolas Vieille, Emmanuel Kemel, Gaetano Gaballo) and PhD students of the ESD Department. The conference will not be restricted to polished papers; there will be space for early-stage projects as well. We will accept both individual and co-authored projects.

To participate, interested students should submit an extended abstract of their paper by March 28th, 2023 on the dedicated section of the conference website. The abstract should not exceed 4 pages and it should allow reviewers to perform an informed evaluation of the work, outlining the project’s contribution, methodology and key results. We will communicate acceptance decisions by May 2nd, 2023.

No application or participation fees will be required, coffee breaks, lunches and one social dinner will be provided for presenters, but no funding will be available for travel and accommodation.
